Position Title: Program Manager

Reports To: Executive Director

Sleepyhead Beds is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2010. Sleepyhead Beds improves the quality of life for children and their families by providing clean, reusable beds and bedding. And we contribute to the health and environment of our community by sanitizing beds and keeping them out of landfills. We are the only organization in the KansasCity area who is focused solely on thismission.

Responsibilities: The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of Sleepyhead Bed’s mattress collection and distribution program. This includes ensuring that the organization has beds available for distribution, scheduling for pickups and distributions, and daily management of the crew and warehouse. Will serve as the primary face of the organization to bed donors and partners. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Program Management
    • All intake, data collection and reporting
    • Fee collection and documentation
    • All scheduling (client, driver, donations)
    • Work with the Executive Director to enhance current programs and/or develop new programs
  • Partner and Donor Relations
    • Lead employee with all municipalities, retailers, hotels and others that donate bulk beds
    • Communicate effectively, employing a high level of interpersonal skills
    • Seek opportunities to build awareness of the organization, its mission, and its programs therefore growing the number of beds we receive and share with the children of Kansas City
  • Warehouse and Team
    • Supervises Driver & Warehouse Assistant to ensure organizational standards are being met for warehouse condition and customer service
    • Coordinate purchase of all supplies
    • Manage vehicle fleet (cleanliness, gas, on-going maintenance & records)
    • Manage warehouse (organization, supplies, recycling, cleanliness, bathroom stock & clean)
  • Financial
    • Maintain awareness of organization’s operating budget and manage within those guidelines
    • Maintain records of all incoming financial donations in association with bed pickups
    • Assist the organization’s ED and/or Board with annual fundraisers, including Bingo & Brews for Beds

Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree (preferred but not required)
  • Prior nonprofit experience preferred
  • Minimum of one year of customer service
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
